After gaining a degree in Journalism and editing her student magazine at Dublin City University, with a semester abroad at Boston University, Laura began her career in the media as a researcher on Irish national radio station Newstalk.

Soon after, Laura entered the MTV Pick Me competition and beat 3000 other hopefuls to win a coveted MTV VJ role on the international music channel. Her first job for the channel was covering the MTV Movie Awards in LA.

Laura quickly proved herself adept at life in front of the camera and was rewarded with a permanent role on the network. Reporting from music and film festivals around the world, Laura has interviewed some of the biggest names in show business from Coldplay to Sir Michael Caine, Justin Timberlake to Justin Bieber. She has worked for the channel for almost 10 years including last year’s MTV Europe Music Awards in London.

In 2011, Laura began hosting ITV2’s primetime series I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now! Anchoring the show for 5 series.

In 2012 Laura carried the Olympic torch in London as well as fronting The Beat which was broadcast live each night throughout the Olympics for ITV Studios.

She has hosted the LIVE red carpet and backstage at the Brits for ITV2 five times and twice for BAFTA including last year’s coverage from London’s Royal Albert Hall. In 2016, she got her dancing shoes on for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. She topped the leader board on two separate weeks with her waltz and tango before being in the dance off against Ore Oduba, and was eliminated. Ore went on to win the show. She has also hosted the Eurovision coverage for BBC3.

In 2017, she was cast in the stage adaptation of Peter James’ Sunday Times best-selling crime novel ‘Not Dead Enough’ to rave reviews and toured all over the UK and Ireland for 6 months. She has studied Shakespeare at RADA and Performance at the Leinster School of Music and Drama.

In Feb 2018, she travelled to South Africa to host a new show for ITV 2 ‘Survival of the Fittest’, the ultimate battle of the sexes from the makers of Love Island, for ITV Studios.

In March 2018, she was announced as Ambassador for Diet Coke Ireland
